How can I choose the places to show on the Map?

To choose what types of places to show on the map.

From the main menu list, tap Settings and then Map Display & Guidance.

Tap Show Places on the Map.

Choose when places should be shown on the map: When Stopped, Never, or Always.

Tap on Currently Displayed Places and select the type of places to show on the map.
