If you are experiencing problems activating your CoPilot app after you have moved to a new device or need to reinstall on your same device, please ensure you follow the reinstall instructions provided in the articles below.
Please select the operative system of the device where CoPilot is running to get full instructions.
Reinstalling on Android
It is recommended to make a local back-up of the following files onto your PC/laptop:
- recents.lst (containing recent destinations)
- favorites.lst (containing the preferred destinations)
- all files with the extension .trp (containing saved routes)
The files above will be stored under the directory
com.alk.copilot.mapviewer/***/save, (Android 10 or precedent); or
com.alk.copilot.mapviewer/files/***/save (Android 11 or above)
which could be found in the internal storage or emulated (sometimes also called card) folder in your device.
Where *** should be replaced by the following:
- NA/save (if you have North America maps),
- EU/save (if you have European maps),
- SA/save (for South America),
- OC/save (for Australia),
- ME/save (for Middle East),
- AS/save or SEA/save (for Asian maps),
- AF/save (for maps of Africa).
NOTE:
On Android 10 or precedent, the com.alk.copilot.mapviewer.*. folder will need to be manually deleted during the uninstallation process in order to completely remove CoPilot GPS from the device.
If you purchased CoPilot from the Google Play Store follow the steps below:
- If you would like to backup your favorites and recent destinations for CoPilot version 10, please start CoPilot and go to the ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path and select Cloud Backup > Backup to Cloud.
- Uninstall CoPilot
- [On the new device] go to the Google Play Store and re-download CoPilot (be sure to be signed in under the same email address you used to purchase the app originally).
- Once installed, launch CoPilot and follow the first run wizard and please choose the option to sign in and use your existing CoPilot ID to restore licenses (use the same CoPilot ID you had in your old device)
- Re-download maps from MyCoPilot> My Maps
- If you backed up your favorites and recent destinations as described above before uninstalling the software, you will be able to restore them from within ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path and select Cloud Backup > Restore from Cloud.
Reinstalling on iOS
- If you would like to backup your favorites and recent destinations for CoPilot version 10, please start CoPilot and go to the ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path and select Cloud Backup > Backup to Cloud.
- Remove CoPilot from your iOS device by holding down the CoPilot app icon for a few seconds and then select the X that appears on the icon and select Delete.
- [On the new device] make sure you are signed into the App Store with the original Apple ID you used when you purchased CoPilot originally.
- Download CoPilot from the App Store by following any of these ways:
A. Go to the App Store, select the Updates tab on bottom right, and then select Purchased OR
B. In the App Store in the search bar type the name of the app, for ex. CoPilot GPS. Select the CoPilot icon to download it. - Launch CoPilot and sign in as an existing user with your CoPilot ID and Password.
- Re-download the maps you would like to use.
- If you backed up your favorites and recent destinations as described above before uninstalling the software, you will be able to restore them from within ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path and select Cloud Backup > Restore from Cloud.
Reinstalling on Windows Laptop
- Please go to Control Panel >> Uninstall a program >> then choose CoPilot Laptop Truck >> and then select Uninstall.
- Next if you would like to backup any of your favorites, trips, or recent places, please copy the save folder to your desktop before reinstalling **The file path to obtain the SAVE folder is: C:Users"Your User Name"AppDataRoamingALK TechnologiesCoPilot Live v9 LaptopNA or EUsave**
- Please delete the folder CoPilot Live v9 Laptop by following this file path C:Users"Your User Name"AppDataRoamingALK TechnologiesCoPilot Live v9 Laptop
- *Note, please make sure you have show hidden files enabled. You can do this by: -Opening up Windows/File Explorer >> Select Organize >> Folder and Search options >> View tab >> Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives >> Apply

- Please select the correct bit version of your computer (32 or 64 bit) for download by: Going to Start Menu >> Computer >> right click on Computer and select Properties.
