Map updates are released usually once or twice a year, depending on the region. This is why, for instance, a brand new highway that is already viewable on the web might not be included in your CoPilot.
Updating a map for a stand-alone GPS navigator is not just about drawing a new Road A on top of the existing roads. It entails multiple tests to make sure that the Road A is taken into consideration when CoPilot calculates any route that may possibly pass through it.
This process takes time and many aspects must be considered before release of a new map update.
