If you are experiencing problems activating your CoPilot app after you have moved to a new device or need to reinstall on your same device, please ensure you follow the reinstallation instructions provided in the articles below.


Please select the operative system of the device where CoPilot is running to get full instructions.

Reinstalling on Android

It is recommended to make a local back-up of the following files contained in the relevant folder com.alk.copilot.* onto your PC/laptop:

  • recents.lst (containing recent destinations)
  • favorites.lst (containing the preferred destinations)
  • all files with the extension .trp (containing saved routes) 



If you purchased CoPilot from the Webstore (ALK Online Shop) follow the steps below:

 

  1.  If you would like to backup your favourites and recent destinations for CoPilot version 10, please start CoPilot and go to the ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path     and select Cloud BackupBackup to Cloud
  2. Delete the relevant folder com.alk.copilot.* and uninstall CoPilot, or
  3. Factory reset the device to completely remove the app from the device
  4. After that [on the new device] go to: Settings > Security and select the option: unknown origin (allow the installation of applications from sources other than the Play Store).
  5. Open the web browser on your device and click here to load the CoPilot APK file
  6. Select CoPilot Premium (Android) or CoPilot Truck (Android) and download the APK file.
  7. Once the APK file has been installed select the folder: com.alk.copilot.alkdirect
  8. When you see the message, "If you want to install the app," select "Install."
  9. Open the CoPilot app and enter your product key (25-character).
  10. Please log in with your existing Copilot ID (Account) & Password.
  11. If you backed up your favourites and recent destinations as described above before uninstalling the software, you will be able to restore them from within ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path     and select Cloud Backup > Restore from Cloud



If you purchased CoPilot from the Google Play Store follow the steps below:

    

  1.  If you would like to backup your favourites and recent destinations for CoPilot version 10, please start CoPilot and go to the ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path     and select Cloud BackupBackup to Cloud
  2. Delete the relevant folder com.alk.copilot.* and uninstall CoPilot, or
  3. Factory reset the device to completely remove the app from the device
  4. [On the new device] go to the Google Play Store and re-download CoPilot (be sure to be signed in under the same email address you used to purchase the app originally).
  5. Once installed, launch CoPilot and follow the first run wizard and please choose the option to sign in and use your existing CoPilot ID to restore licenses (use the same CoPilot ID you had in your old device)
  6. Re-download maps from MyCoPilot> My Maps
  7. If you backed up your favourites and recent destinations as described above before uninstalling the software, you will be able to restore them from within ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path     and select Cloud Backup > Restore from Cloud

 


Reinstalling on iOS

    

  1.  If you would like to backup your favourites and recent destinations for CoPilot version 10, please start CoPilot and go to the ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path     and select Cloud BackupBackup to Cloud.
  2. Remove CoPilot from your iOS device by holding down the CoPilot app icon for a few seconds and then select the X that appears on the icon and select Delete.
  3. [On the new device] make sure you are signed into the App Store with the original Apple ID you used when you purchased CoPilot originally.
  4. Download CoPilot from the App Store by following any of these ways: A. Go to the App Store, select the Updates tab on bottom right, and then select Purchased OR B. In the App Store in the search bar type the name of the app, for ex. CoPilot Premium Europe. The app you purchased will appear in the search results with a download icon next to it. Select the CoPilot icon to download it.
  5. Launch CoPilot and sign in as an existing user with your CoPilot ID and Password.
  6. Re-download the maps you would like to use.
  7. If you backed up your favourites and recent destinations as described above before uninstalling the software, you will be able to restore them from within ACCOUNT SETTINGS following the path     and select Cloud Backup > Restore from Cloud

 

 

Reinstalling on Windows Phone or Windows Mobile

 

  1. If you would like to back up your favourites and recent destinations, please start CoPilot and access MyCoPilot > Cloud Backup. Then select “Backup to Cloud”.

  2. Uninstall CoPilot by tapping and holding the CoPilot icon, and then tap the "uninstall" option.

  3. [On the new device] download CoPilot from the Windows Store, making sure you are signed in with the same account used for the original purchase.
  4. Locate CoPilot in the list and choose INSTALL.
  5. Launch CoPilot and sign in as an existing user with your CoPilot ID and Password.
  6. If you backed up your favourites and recent destinations as described above before uninstalling the software, you will be able to restore them from within My CoPilot > Cloud Backup; please select "Restore from Cloud".


 

Reinstalling on Windows Laptop

 

  1. Please go to Control Panel >> Uninstall a program >> then choose CoPilot Laptop Truck >> and then select Uninstall.
  2. Next if you would like to backup any of your favorites, trips, or recent places, please copy the save folder to your desktop before reinstalling **The file path to obtain the SAVE folder is: C:Users"Your User Name"AppDataRoamingALK TechnologiesCoPilot Live v9 LaptopNA or EUsave**
  3. Please delete the folder CoPilot Live v9 Laptop by following this file path C:Users"Your User Name"AppDataRoamingALK TechnologiesCoPilot Live v9 Laptop
  4. *Note, please make sure you have show hidden files enabled. You can do this by: -Opening up Windows/File Explorer >> Select Organize >> Folder and Search options >> View tab >> Select Show hidden files, folders, and drives >> Apply
  5. Download CoPilot TRUCK for Laptop Here   
  6. Download Copilot AUTO  for Laptop Here
  7. Please select the correct bit version of your computer (32 or 64 bit) for download by: Going to Start Menu >> Computer >> right click on Computer and select Properties.
